Unity Wind, a partnership with Miller Wind, LLC, was developing a 240 MW wind facility near Amarillo, Texas. As part of the project, Unity Wind needed to assess and excavate four wind turbine sites – within a tight timeframe. The company realized it required outside expertise in geotechnical design and construction, and turned to Haley & Aldrich Construction Services (HCS) to solve its problem.
HCS brought an innovative approach, critical expertise and the ability to execute on time and on budget. Using Lean construction practices, we cost-effectively managed the entire process – from geotechnical design and reporting to constructing four 85’W by 85’L by 12’ deep excavations for the turbine foundations. During the process, we also provided survey control and implemented stormwater management measures. HCS worked with all project teams to closely coordinate simultaneous activities and ensure communication was clear.
